Make sure to take medications for food poisoning. Activated charcoal and probiotics are not enough. It is very high risk here. My husband and I got very sick. He got food poisoning from our 5* resort, from pork meal and me from a cafe in Hoi an, I suppose the ice was from tap water. We got very sick even being very careful and not eaten any street food! With all the drama to rebook new tickets and extend hotels as we were not able to travel. Not a great experience on a vacation

Don’t be afraid to ask if u are on group tours if u pay a little extra to get your own small boat rather than being crammed on with 14 other people who can’t swim and make things worse by panicking 😬

I wish I knew about north Vietnam. I would have spent my entire month there.

Hotels will charge you if your towels are too dirty. Wife had a little lipstick 💄 on one. They charged us $5 US. We had another one they didn’t see. Took it to her family home washed it and it came out fine! Heard from another guest that their 5 year old not use to the climate had a nose bleed over night. Charged then for it and called the police! And it’s the TOP Managment that does this! The workers are amazing! We loved our trip visiting my wife’s family. We stayed in Ho Chi Minh City.

hanoi isn’t for everyone. I love sapa! but hanoi is definitely super chaotic. Communication is super hard between locals, they sometimes come across as rude. (maybe because they ate frustrated because we couldn’t understand them)
