   I wish we had slowed down our first trip! It always takes longer to get from A to B and you don’t want to spent 1 or 2 nights only to move the next day and don’t really get to know a place. We are returning to Vietnam again this year and will spend a few extra days in each destination.

   Been to Vietnam many times, pack light , use cash, get the grab app for taxis, be polite, eat where the locals eat , don’t run across roads just slowly walk and the traffic will go around you , be prepared to barter for whatever you are buying, relax and enjoy your holiday, it’s a safe, friendly place. Try and learn some Vietnamese.

   I’ve been to Vietnam 5 times, visited 16 cities, and the longest trip was 3 weeks. I booked a one-way plane ticket and never planned anything, but everything went smoothly 🙂

   Cross the street with the locals in a city. Don’t look at the traffic, walk at a steady pace, the bikes/cars etc will move round you. Stop suddenly while crossing and I hope you have good medical insurance.
