Organise your taxi from the airport beforehand or you’ll be skinned alive by those airport taxi guys…absolutely ruthless!

Our guide in Saigon said beware fake cabs, fake monks and coconut sellers . Raise your hand to cross the road and walk with purpose. The locals in Saigon call it just that . You can see the smog from the sky tower . If you’re asthmatic pack a good mask . The people are amazing

I was told you can take a boat ride from HCM to the Cu Chi tunnels instead of by bus. I’ll be trying this next time to cut down the travel time

If you be brave and go dining without a guide… when ordering your meal ie: a fish dish, you will get the whole fish 🐟 I mean a meal to share with the table 😂

Bring an old unlocked phone and buy a SIM or eSIM outside the airport for better deals. It’s best to exchange $100 bills to VND at gold or jewelry stores. Research prices beforehand to avoid overpaying. Learn the art of negotiations. Vietnam is a beautiful country with kind people, but stay aware of your surroundings and don’t get drunk and try to walk back to your hotel alone.
