Hotel warning – our experience. Hoi An: AIRA Boutique HotelJust wanted to share our experience in case it helps other travelers. We stayed at a beachfront hotel (paid about $136/night) and were quite disappointed. The location is good, but it’s not very quiet – there’s a restaurant next door with drunk guests and barking dogs, and a karaoke beach bar in front. The biggest issue was the hotel maintenance and service. The pool area is very run down: muddy/sandy deck, dirty and broken chairs, and pool houses with deteriorated palm roofs where blue plastic is visible underneath. Every morning we had to ask staff to clean the chairs, which should really be done before guests arrive.Service was also disappointing. When we raised our concerns, the hotel first offered to pay the transfer to our next hotel, but after learning we were going to Hue they changed it to only paying half ($29). Considering the price we paid per night, this felt quite unreasonable. Our attic room was spacious but dark, no beach view (blocked by buildings), and we initially had no hot water until asking them to turn it on.I’ve traveled a lot across Asia and honestly this was below the standard of most hotels in this price range. The room cleaning staff were kind, but overall we felt our concerns were not taken seriously by management.Just something to keep in mind if you’re looking for accommodation in the area.Best,

You need to do your jomework before booking these places. We never have any problems
Sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay there. I absolutely love the An Bang Beach area and have stayed at Aira a couple of times. There aren’t any large resort style hotels in An Bang proper and Aira is one of the better properties in the area, albeit a bit more expensive than the much smaller guest house style accommodation mostly seen in An Bang. I think it is a bit of supply and demand. In saying that, we’ve always really enjoyed our stay at Aira despite it having a few imperfections. $136 (presumably US) still seems pretty cheap for a beach location in one of the most chilled villages in Vietnam and the attic rooms are very large. We have been to SEA at least 50 times and happily pay AUD 800 a night when we want luxury and everything perfect, but even then there are often little failings here and there- it’s SEA after all 🙂
You can submit your reviews on Google or Agoda so people are aware of this!
Post on TripAdvisor and hotels feedback. And yes, we also found out that pictures do not match the reality
Shooting ppl down for their opinion is not cool at all. I thank them for the honest opinion thx.
We stayed in 11 different hotels of varying types and prices during our recent 6 weeks. I read about a million reviews in the months prior and every single one was either as expected or even nicer! It’s no good reading the first ten or so that are always the good ones – keep going and read the ones which give less than 3 stars – if even one review uses the words dirty or run down or tired or noisy or dark or anything negative that would bother us, I move on! I find that doing the work before traveling really pays off.
How you think about Hội An Pinus Hội An PINUS Boutique Villa.
For that price you’d expect better for sure. Thanks for sharing.
wow what a shame with a price you paid, I stayed at White Lotus Hotel Hoian for only less than $70 a night and it was fabulous, i got a big room, free bike and delicious beer by the pool
Do not stay in a bit expensive hotels . Otherwise you’d lost your potential flexibility
