Hotel warning – our experience. Hoi An: AIRA Boutique HotelJust wanted to share our experience in case it helps other travelers. We stayed at a beachfront hotel (paid about $136/night) and were quite disappointed. The location is good, but it’s not very quiet – there’s a restaurant next door with drunk guests and barking dogs, and a karaoke beach bar in front. The biggest issue was the hotel maintenance and service. The pool area is very run down: muddy/sandy deck, dirty and broken chairs, and pool houses with deteriorated palm roofs where blue plastic is visible underneath. Every morning we had to ask staff to clean the chairs, which should really be done before guests arrive.Service was also disappointing. When we raised our concerns, the hotel first offered to pay the transfer to our next hotel, but after learning we were going to Hue they changed it to only paying half ($29). Considering the price we paid per night, this felt quite unreasonable. Our attic room was spacious but dark, no beach view (blocked by buildings), and we initially had no hot water until asking them to turn it on.I’ve traveled a lot across Asia and honestly this was below the standard of most hotels in this price range. The room cleaning staff were kind, but overall we felt our concerns were not taken seriously by management.Just something to keep in mind if you’re looking for accommodation in the area.Best,

Such a shame to read this. We stayed in this hotel 2 years ago for 5 nights and had a wonderful expérience. Nothing like what you described.
Some people on these FB groups (im on a few for traveling tips) think its up to THEM to protect the country from any negative comments.
Looks as if they failed to repair & renew after monsoon season. They may still be on off-season mentality.
We loved it here and will be staying again in two weeks time
$136 is expensive there. So sorry.
Tricky post, your upset about the transfer price?
Need to research a lot better obviously and yes it sucks to be disappointed.. we paid about $100 a day an we stayed at eco lodge and spa in Hoi an was about 3-4km out of town and they had a free shuttle bus back and forth into town and our room putting it bluntly was fu@&ing amazing outdoor bath and private and shower omg! And bed and breakfast buffet and just everything amazing and when we contacted them prior to arrival they were happy to pick us up and drop us back at Danang so yes free airport transfers.. modern rooms and amazing staff and just amazing place
We stayed at this hotel for 9 nights 9-18 February. Our safe was compromised and £590 stolen. The hotel and police have done nothing. Our word it appears against their loyal staff.
I dont get these posts either we all have good and bad experiences. So id expect reviews on here .I think the Karen’s are the ones that are being rude. You dont like the reviews then dont comment .I for one appreciate people’s experiences. And I personally didn’t see the review about transfer money .The pictures speak for themselves.
136$? I’d be pissed too. It’s Asia, that should be a price for luxury.
