Hey my wife and I just had a massage in HCMC and they were great.

Hey my wife and I just had a massage in HCMC and they were great. They charged $350,000VND!! No problem. Then before we paid they wanted us to rate the massage with a strongly suggested $300,000VND tip for each of us. Is this normal? We don’t mind tipping but that seems excessive. Can anyone explain? TIA

This is 19 dollars in CDN. That is super super cheap still with a tip is crazy good. 😊 if I am doing the math right

It’s only normal if you’re either a sucker or have no balls to say no😂😂 you are literally paying for another massage you’re not having my gu

If you’re buying, eating, or paying for any service during TET, all bets are off. YOU WILL PAY MORE in many ways.

Just got back last month and had four massages. I was never asked for a tip. I chose to tip, but at a much more reasonable rate. They were asking you to pay a 85% tip which is crazy high no matter what country you go to.

Stay away from any massage place that has consultant guys (cò mồi). Only partake those that clearly post their service price. Nevertheless, most places seem to take advantage of foreigners of nice being. Minus the cheap Ruskies of course.

I typically tip 50,000 – 100,000 VND per person for massages. It’s really up to you, even with a strong suggestion.

NO, it’s not normal, tip or not and how much you want to give it’s up to you!

That’s why you got to the days spa type places with a set price – no trickery – still a $35 aus massage which is half the price you pay here
