Hey my wife and I just had a massage in HCMC and they were great. They charged $350,000VND!! No problem. Then before we paid they wanted us to rate the massage with a strongly suggested $300,000VND tip for each of us. Is this normal? We don’t mind tipping but that seems excessive. Can anyone explain? TIA

Suggested ?? Is up to you ..That suggested is too much .. I wouldn’t tip that high. Maybe 50k- 100k most .
Tip is optional. Tip them based on their service and your satisfaction. Don’t agreed to the tip amount suggested just because we are from the US and can afforded die the conversion and cost differences. It’s the principal!!!!
That’s crazy. No tipping is required, especially if they inferred it. ZERO
350k that’s the normal price..
Tips are optional. Pay what you like
Tipping for massage is common. Massage staff working for a small salary, just a few VND goes to them. Tipping is for them extra. 100 /200 K VND is standard.
The masseurs are paid a very poor wage. About 30000 dong per hour, the owner takes the vast majority.
As all tipping start at.10% then go up. If they ask for tipping up front. Im sure not to tip or tip less. Tip are for good service not to be pressured
Happened to us in HCMC for a very average foot massage. Not kosher at all but we just didn’t go back or recommend it online
I’ve been having massages and if
