Honest question: my wife and I are overweight and not thick-skinned. Are comments or jokes about body weight common in Vietnam? Just want to know what to expect and how to react.Thanks.Honest question: my wife and I are overweight and not thick-skinned. Are comments or jokes about body weight common in Vietnam? Ohhh pal the vietmamese are beautiful. They don’t care what you look like. If you are kind and respectful to them, they will love you

They are t-i-n-y ppl, very tiny, so just know that you will look like a giant to them. If you are overweight, than you are ginormous to them.
You will get some, (Anh map) listen for that word.
when getting clothes in Hoi an, she asked me…. “Why so fat?” its not malicious.. just go with the flow
