Hello,I had incident that occurred at Tan Son Nhat Airport while I was departing Vietnam. After checking in my luggage, I proceeded to the security checkpoint. While standing in line, I was called to a control room where baggage is scanned. There were no illegal or prohibited items in my luggage. However, the employee asked me for money in order for my luggage to pass through. I found this request unusual and initially declined. She then insisted and suggested that I give 500,000 VND as a tip.In an effort to resolve the situation and continue with my departure, I opened my wallet intending to give a smaller amount (100,000 VND). While I was searching for smaller bills, the employee reached into my wallet and took 500,000 VND without my consent.I would like to know if this is standard practice, as it appeared inappropriate and concerning.

I’m canceling my trip to Vietnam after reading this. It is not a pleasant feeling.
Its a common scam at Tan Son Nhat, its the time before Tet , everyone needs money to spend so they indulge in such practices.
Scam post! The script was cut and pasted! Different font sizes!
Camera is your friend in this situation . They will back off when they see the camera . No , this is definitely not usual
No this is not Legal. Sorry that my mother land did this to you .🕊
Vietnam customs at Tan Son Nhat airport has been corrupt for many years. I’m not surprised by it. They try to scare somebody and get money from them. Supervisors or managers still exhibit the same behavior, but they try to pretend to be nice in front of foreign people. Even though they have a lot of complaints, they never solve the issue. I suggest when they ask you to come there to talk privately, try to record them and post on social media.
