Have fun
Just go! You will have the time of your life. My husband is 79 and I am 73 and we just had an amazing 12 days in North and Central Vietnam last December. We started in Hanoi, went to Sapa to cover Moana View, CatCat village, Silver waterfalls and Heaven Gate doing all the climbing, went back to Hanoi to go south to Ninh Binh the following day (passing by Incense Village) where we did the boat ride at Tran Ang. We had an overnigh Halong Bay cruise and did all the short shore excursionns. We flew to Danang on a weekend and watched in awe for 2 consecutive nights as the Dragon bridge spewed water and fire. We went on a day tour to Bana Hills and the following day we went to the coconut village, Marble mountain and finishing off in the afternoon to night in Hoi An. Beautiful Vietnam.
At 72, in 2019, I rode bicycle from Saigon to Hanoi, most of the way except train from Hue to Ninh Binh with tour group.
This is completely free. You wil need it, It’s especially useful for:

So… depending on your mobility… you may want to research accessibility of the places you’d like to travel. And, just like traveling anywhere else, be mindful of how much you’re spending on the things you buy.
I took my wife for her 70th. They are so respectful to seniors.
