I did in Hanoi from eating at a higher end more touristy place. I ate at all local places before that and didn’t have an issue. Took two days to clear my system. Was there last month. I did bring stuff to help and drank a lot.
Yes – 12 hours intensely and it was all over. Not pleasant. I think it was a dicey spring roll in a gallery cafe.

Food poisoning happens everywhere in the world.
Fairly common even for locals, half my family has lived there their whole life. In the not so distant past, it was common in the West. Mostly not too bad. Eat at busy places. We eat street food. In the West we waste tons of food, in the rest of the World not so much.
I never had food poisoning, but my daughter did. We ate the same thing at the local food vendor.
I know a couple of places that have food poisoning but can’t repeat their names.
