went to fancy restaurant…
Yes..my daughter and I both had awful food poisoning from eating goat meat in ninh binh. She vomited violently 10x and diarrhea, and I got violent symptoms about 24 hours later with terrible diarrhea and vomiting, – at the same time! Worst ive ever had with v and d lasting 2 days. It knocked us both for six. And the nausea and loss of appetite lingered for day’s.. but we had to keep going with a flight to next destination. We both sipped electrolytes but couldn’t keep food down for several days . Then caused constipation due to the anti diarrhea med Loperamide – just one dose, and ondansetron for nausea. Not pleasant at all! I found broth abd ginger tea a bit of help.
I drank coconut water and water bottles for hydration.
Not in the places I eat.
I had it once in The Gambia….had to spend a night in a clinic. I’m a vegetarian so didn’t get it from meat, no idea where it was from. But nothing the couple of times we’ve been to Thailand. Off to Hoi An in 3 weeks. 🙏
Several times due to street food actually
9+ years and twice, both lasted 24 hours. Key is to hydrate constantly and don’t take antidiarrheal medicine.
In total I’ve spent over 5 years there. While there, I ate 80% of my meals out. Street food and restaurants. Never had a case of food poisoning.
Staying at one 5 star hotel in o chi min i had issues yesterday with the buffet. It happens, yes!
I just had one. It was absolutely horrible and wouldn’t go away on its own for almost 2 weeks, every day I I thought it would get better itself but never did. So I had to take antibiotics for 10 days.
