Just received our Wise Card – got it on the recommendation of a traveller friend.

Just received our Wise Card – got it on the recommendation of a traveller friend. Was told to test it in Australia before going to Vietnam. Made a purchase at Woollies using tap & go – all good. Went to a couple of ATM’S to try a withdrawal – one wanted a $7.50 transaction fee – the other one a $15.00 fee. Does anyone have experience in using Wise O/Seas? Maybe the fees were because we were using it in Australia?Wondering if this is the level of fees on Vietnam ATM’S? Thanks

Totally useless card! Debit card for cash and credit card for purchases work just fine.

I would be looking to use VP Bank as it charges no fees, withdrawals are limited in daily amount. I don’t know if Wise attaches its own fees to transactions. I use my ING card at both TP & VP Banks & have no fees.

When we went to Bali, I just used my NAB card, will Vietnam be the same or are Wise cards highly recommended?

Generally only fees when withdrawing cash from atm not when tapping at restaurant or mini mart

Most ATMs in Vietnam will charge you 55000 Dong – per transaction. Just get largest amount out each time. I was never charged a different amount, always the same on Wise at multiple ATMs.

Yes. Wise card take a fee every time you withdraw cash. And there’s a limit of 2 million dong in each transaction. Some banks will allow more.
