Just received our Wise Card – got it on the recommendation of a traveller friend. Was told to test it in Australia before going to Vietnam. Made a purchase at Woollies using tap & go – all good. Went to a couple of ATM’S to try a withdrawal – one wanted a $7.50 transaction fee – the other one a $15.00 fee. Does anyone have experience in using Wise O/Seas? Maybe the fees were because we were using it in Australia?Wondering if this is the level of fees on Vietnam ATM’S? Thanks

Cash is king, bring AUD and change it at the country you are arriving at.
VP bank charged fees of abt 55,000 VNd , i am told TP ban may not charge fees.
I have used my au issued Wise card at ANZ ATMs and I didn’t pay a fee. In Vietnam I used the Agri atm and the fee was about a $1.50 aud. Stay under your 2 free monthly withdrawal limit.
What atm were you using I have been using my wise card for everyday transactions tap and go with zero fees the only fees I have paid when withdrawing cash are the standard atms at most $3,75 dollars fees
It’s not your card provider charging you that fee, it’s the ATM. If you draw cash abroad you should draw a decent amount to spread the cost.
I dont understand why people use Wise cards these days. I just use my normal ATM debit and credit cards when I travel. I pay no fees and the bank offers a better conversion rate to most of the travel card options.
Use VP banks in Vietnam, no fees
I love the wise card..
It’s fine-but you need to make sure you load your money into the correct currency. I also tend to load 500 dollars at a time via transfer which has 0 transaction fee if you loading your card-each country has a standard fee for atm use-so do your research before you go – I currently have loaded 4 currencies- au, Vietnamese dong, Japanese yen and Philippine peso-
