Is it safe to leave passport in hotel safe ?I’ve purchased a travel safe and padlocks for my suitcase. Is it safe to leave passports in hotel safe ? Or is passport in my personal travel safe and then in hotel safe ? Or could I leave in luggage in my travel safe with padlock on suitcase? I’ve heard so much conflicting information and also about bags being snatched so not wanting to take them with me every where and out on tours to water etc.

Had passport stolen in a taxi in Thailand drove off with backpack before I got in , worst case scenario Consultate provides emergency one to get Home
If you are worried about this you should probably stay home
A lot of hotels have a safe per room.
I left it locked in hotel safe when travelling last year in NZ, but when in Vietnam I kept it in an RFID pocket within my travel bag I carried with me every day (for no particular reason). I can’t remember if the homestays had safes???
I stayed in hotels with no safes so my passport was in my bag. No dramas at all for me.
You do know suit case zips can be opened with a pen. Leave all you stuff in hotel safe. Have photos of passports, money ect on your phone. Safer than carrying on you.
We are here atm and I have taken mine with me everywhere except swimming. Wore cross body bag and was no problems
An you money as well no problem at all
I have stayed in many hotels in USA, Europe, Africa and Asia. (In Vietnam I have stayed in hotels in Hoi An, Da Nang, Hanoi and Ha Long) I always put my passport in the room safe (which usually has a combination lock) the moment I enter the room.
