If comments on your appearance will make you reconsider some significant decisions in your life (travel abroad… Socialize…), you should fix yourself first, with no offense, I’m not trying to be harsh, But i don’t want you to get irritated by somebody commenting on your looks, people are going to talk anyways and everywhere, so their comments shouldn’t be more than a noise
They aren’t jokes they are tell you as it is 😂
There are a lot of over weight people in Asia now because of western fast food.
I was a size 8, i walked in a store and they yelled across the whole store to go get the biggest sizes they have.😆 you still need thick skin. But look at them, most are tiny and small boned.
People will stare at you, but Vietnamese people just like to stare. So don’t let that bother you. They stare at everyone and it has nothing to do with how you look.
No Sir, you and your wife can enjoy and don’t care about it. Not everyone does that.
Eh I feel most viet’s will give you looks but tend to not say anything to you unless they know you or their comfortable to say their mind. There are over weight ppl in Vietnam also. But if you smell or stink, they still def let you know and make it known if you smell. I’d be more worried about that
You have got to laugh when they put extra plastic chairs together before you sit down or go and get a stronger chair 🤣🤣🤣. Used to go and buy clothes and they would say too fat but there are lots of overweight people so I haven’t heard that this trip
So on my last trip I walked past a group of women in a market and they asked me how much I weigh, but it was said with curiosity. I just laughed it off and said “too much”. They laughed too. Other than that I found if I went to a stall that had the little chairs they’d politely direct me to a “stronger” chair or double them up. I was ok with this as I’d be more horrified if it broke on me. Vietnam is probably more polite than Thailand where I’d get told they have “elephant” size clothing as I walked past a stall. I think it’s about understanding they mean no offence it’s just a cultural thing.
