Just got back- I am a LEO in the US. Zero issues during my 2 week stay! Never felt safer!
It can happen like anywhere. Especially from a xe ôm guy who puts your bag in front… but it’s not usual. Phones get stolen often. Hoan Kiem Lake used to be a place for them in Hanoi. Now maybe safer. But it depends on how safe you feel. If you fear it all the time, you attract it.
We had no problems in February . Just be aware of your surroundings .
