I’ve been 5 times and never encountered a single problem ( other than some crud hotels and the occasional street seller trying to massively over price stuff due to being a westerner )

I like to think that not all countries have this problem, BUT Whether there pick pockets here or there you just use your common sense.
Although Vietnam is relatively safe but pick pockets, phone snatching does happen. Just becareful with what ever you do.
Unfortunately it can happen anywhere.
I’ve never even felt on guard here.

I don’t know about DaNang. In Hanoi, local young men steal phones from on their motorcycles, and I am told by local business owners that people from India were working the old quarter as pickpockets.
