Watch out for the bait and switch taxi drivers. They will take 500,000 and then switch it to 50,000 Dong (100,000 to 10,000)and say you still owe them money. It’s happened to me twice in Saigon. This was the one who got away with it. The second one didn’t work. Your best bet is to get a Grab from the app off your phone.

this is how they have been scamming people for decades.. even us Vietnamese get scammed by them.. my brother and his gf goes to VN often and they uses grab or trusted local drivers.

Use grab or xanh. Due to the gas price increase , best is to book using Xanh, a VinFast electric car company. The price is cheaper than using grab!
