Watch out for the bait and switch taxi drivers. They will take 500,000 and then switch it to 50,000 Dong (100,000 to 10,000)and say you still owe them money. It’s happened to me twice in Saigon. This was the one who got away with it. The second one didn’t work. Your best bet is to get a Grab from the app off your phone.

Do not use no name taxis. Use Vinasun or Mai Linh. Use also Grab and Xanh SM if you prefer using app, but not always app is convenient.
Unless you know someone with a car ,you are diffently better off with grab
Use Grab not taxis. No issues
Get a reputable private driver.
Get a Xanh via app and you will NEVER have to worry about being scammed on anything. Xanh only uses EVs, much better for VN’s environment!
Install Grab and pay for it when book is the way to go! No need to hassle with driver.
