My thoughts on Nha Trang I’m just leaving Nha Trang after 4 days here. 4 weeks in Vietnam. I’ve loved every bit, except for Nha Trang. It’s full of Russians, the signs are often in Russian.I never had a thing about Russians before this, but by golly, I’ve been bruised by them on the street, as they just push past you, no manners in giving (even a fraction), when pushing past you on the footpath. I’ve heard them abuse the locals way too often. It’s not nice here anymore. I came to Nha Trang 16 years ago and really enjoyed myself. This time, I actually ended up avoiding going out, because the vibe isn’t great.Maybe I was in the wrong part of Nha Trang, but I am so happy to be leaving and I won’t be coming back. Has anyone else had a similar experience here, or is it just me?I did meet a couple of nice ones, but the majority just treated others like we are in their way, like servants and the manners were non existent that I saw, in general.

The number of russians in Nha Trang has exploded over the past four years. The north end of the city should be renamed, “Little Moscow”. And they are getting pretty thick all over the city. In the past year russian has been added to most of the signage. The locals tend not to like them due to their rudeness. Personally, I have had no issues with them aside from their habit of not yielding space in crowded places. The few that I have actually spoken with were fine. I have spent the entire month of February NT for the past 4 years and I am going back. Note: I don’t visit the bars at night. That’s where most of the problems occur.
Have you tried actually speaking to a Russian person? They are surprisingly just human beings! Like you and me 😄
We found the same problem in Koh Samui, the majority of them are rude and have ZERO manners….
Our hotel there was having Communist Party meetings and there were scads of people in uniform but they were Vietnamese. They pushed in front of me in line for food at breakfast. I actually had to ask my guide for help getting soup. It was near the end of a 3 week trip and the only negative experience I recall in the whole country. Well other than the worst episode of travelers gut I’ve ever had in my life earlier in the trip.
I stayed 2 months in North Nha Trang and I fully enjoyed it. Cheap local food, Russian families with little children, a quiet paradise. But yeah, please don’t go there, don’t gentrify it like Danang, leave it for me and the Russians!
Russians are everywhere in Vietnam…also Mui Ne is packed of them!!!! I wished they were not allowed to travel

Why don’t you all go to Tuy Hoa. You’re lucky to see a westerner of any description and certainly hardly any souvenir shops. From what I could see, just heaps of Vietnamese.
Animals they are Nha Trang and Phu Quoc.
100% agree, didn’t even feel like the rest of Vietnam, dirty smelly and worst accommodation on our trip. Don’t go there
