My thoughts on Nha Trang I’m just leaving Nha Trang after 4 days here. 4 weeks in Vietnam. I’ve loved every bit, except for Nha Trang. It’s full of Russians, the signs are often in Russian.I never had a thing about Russians before this, but by golly, I’ve been bruised by them on the street, as they just push past you, no manners in giving (even a fraction), when pushing past you on the footpath. I’ve heard them abuse the locals way too often. It’s not nice here anymore. I came to Nha Trang 16 years ago and really enjoyed myself. This time, I actually ended up avoiding going out, because the vibe isn’t great.Maybe I was in the wrong part of Nha Trang, but I am so happy to be leaving and I won’t be coming back. Has anyone else had a similar experience here, or is it just me?I did meet a couple of nice ones, but the majority just treated others like we are in their way, like servants and the manners were non existent that I saw, in general.

Laughable one-eyed nonsense. Just came from there and the many locals i spoke with are proud of their city and had no problem at all with Russians. I had some friendly and funny conversations with Ruskies at my hotel and otherwise found them totally fine and unassuming. Several rungs higher than, say, pissed up British tourists brawling in Spain or loud mouthed, inane Yanks.
I rented a beach front cottage in phu quoc to have view and privacy…when I checking in middle day chatting with the owner not even raising our voice in our private space..one of the lady in the group took my beach front chairs occupied my areas then have a gut to tell me to keep quite…I wasn’t gonna make a big deal of them taking my space that exclusively for my cottage ..when she told us to be quite, I lost it..I told her, you are on my private areas and if you don’t like it . .you should go back to your room . Knowing I’m not submissive , she went back to her group ..just pure rude and inconsiderate.
I agree, but I’m Russian and I understand what they’re saying…which makes it even worse. The only way I can justify this is that Nha Trang is a very accessible destination for Russians right now. Many countries are closed to us so the people going there aren’t the most educated, they’re people with low incomes or from some village.I rarely encountered such people in Russia, they weren’t part of my circle
We found they were more north of the river, not so much in central Nah Trang.
We are in Vung Tau and love it. Head into HCMC regularly for night life and excursions.
Not in Vietnam but in Egypt l, by the end of our holiday I couldn’t wait to get away from them. I’ve never met people so entitled in my life. Awful!
Thought the same. Just left there
We were there in 2024. Nha Trang itself was great the Vietnamese we spoke with were lovely. Unfortunately the rudeness and arrogance of the Russians there spoilt the atmosphere of Vietnam. You try to ignore them but they are so loud it’s not funny.
But Indian people are usually friendly.
Had this same experience in Patong in Thailand. Barging into massage shops & pulling open curtained areas, abusing locals.
