I’m going to Vietnam for 3 weeks should I buy this T-Mobile international plan for $50 or is it cheaper to get a ESIM at the airport when I arrive over there? I don’t need phone calls or texts I just need data

The airport vendors will not be the best deal. Try using online global sim purchases, like Airalo or Nomad, if you need more data or voice calling capabilities. Otherwise, T-Mobile works fine with unlimited texting. 5G coverage will only be in the more populated parts of the cities, not everywhere. With a local sim, you can use Grab.
Get the Roamless App it’s great cheap and can use anywhere
I got Viettel eSIMs card I think it was either $13 or $15 USD from a tourist/money exchange place across from St. Peter’s Cathedral. It gave me 5G per day and 150G for 30 days. Included data and talk. I’ll post a picture of the place. Worked everywhere including Hanoi, Sapa, Halong Bay, Da Nang, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City
No, unless youre great with conserving data. Plus i never had good luck with their service overseas. I move around alot so I need unlimited
Data sim in Vietnam only cost $10-15. I always buy mine at the Phone store.
Down load Roamless on your phone . It’s better
It’s WAY cheaper if you get VIETTEL at the M airport
Don’t buy at the airport, find a store when you get inside the city. You will get better deals and much better customer service
We have Tmobile and used it exclusively in SE Asia. Plenty of WiFi available if you need faster. No need for additional purchase.
Be careful with “free” data! I thought my ATT international would be fine but it only connected with 3G so data speeds were worthless to try to use apps on my phone…get the $20 e-sim
