I’m going to Vietnam for 3 weeks should I buy this T-Mobile international plan for $50 or is it cheaper to get a ESIM at the airport when I arrive over there? I don’t need phone calls or texts I just need data

If you’re only going to vietnam, I think you can buy an e-sim online from one of the actual telecom companies instead of through Aerolo. I did that last year in thailand. Worth a web search, anyway.

No it don’t work
You can go to the local mobile shop and get a physical SIM card. When I went last year in May, I paid $25 for 30 days and got 5GB of data per day.
I use the Tmobile international for $50 as i want my same phone number and also want my 2 factor authentication to work via text

Just use T-Mobile, I have used it for 10 months and never an issue that I found, HCMC has a some one bar areas but grab still works and you don’t have to deal with anyone
