I’m going to Vietnam for 3 weeks should I buy this T-Mobile international plan for $50 or is it cheaper to get a ESIM at the airport when I arrive over there?

I got a physical Viettel Sim card and that worked better than my cousins’ esim and T-mobile international plans. I was deep in the countryside and my phone worked great. Even video called my parents in the US so they could see me with our relatives in the countryside.

You can use T-Mobile in VN for texting and fb messenger. Don’t need to buy an eSim.

Cheaper to buy eSim in Vietnam. I also had TMobile & I bought 30 days eSim in Vietnam for $10.

Don’t buy it. It won’t work locally. It happened to me since I purchased eSIM from USA.

If your phone is locked by T-Mobile (not paid off yet) then no esim will work.

My Tmobile plan includes international data and text. It works in Vietnam and pretty much international airports I landed at. However my data was a little slow and super spotty in Vietnam this past November compared to a year and half ago where it was working great. I would suggest just getting an sim/esim as that will be more reliable and faster

Just got back from VN. My aunt got the plan from t-mobile and it didn’t work for some reason. We ended up having to get her a Ubigi eSIM instead (it was way cheaper than $50). I’m not sure how it works (since we don’t need physical SIM cards these days) but I saw them selling sims at the airport for cheap too. Like 300,000 vnd ($12) for 5GB. But if you can wait, you can find them much cheaper outside.
