Hi, we’re going Vietnam in March 🤩 Has anyone done the Ha Giang Loop solo (without a tour)? Me and my partner are thinking of just hiring a bike and doing it ourselves over 3 days. Would love to know any tips/ good stop offs / accommodation recommendations 🥰

Just done it, no problem=) rented a Honda XR 150, perfect bike for that. I was so glad I wasnt in a group😅
For small groups, self driving what company is best for sleeper bus with honda 150 bike rental. Not for party’s and private room.
We had a superb guide and were not part of a big group Minh Tour Guide it was just me and my daughter and the 2 drivers. Highly recommend as we then then used them again with other family members
To be honest we’ve booked a tour – 3 days Easy rider with transport to / from Ha Giang and an extra free night before the tour 9,000 VND for 2 people (less if you are happy to drive yourselves)
I have both done the loop solo with no tour and with an easy rider with Road Kings Hà Giang It is nice to go out your own pace and only costs the ticket you will for sure pay for, bike and accommodations but that’s all the benefits. The second time I did an easy rider and I highly suggest paying the money for it. The amount of footage and pictures I was able to get while riding was worth it alone. Not to mention, these guys take you off the beaten path and got to see way more things than staying on the main road. Road Kings is the absolute best, I would definitely go with them. They pay their riders more and very much care about the community of Ha Giang. When the floods hit, they were one of the first to hit the ground running trying to help people.
Our son flew into Hà Nội and asked a local where he could get a bike.
I know a great private guide on a motorbike. He takes all the stress out

The authorities def check to see your proper licence. So make sure you guys have one
Take a bike and do it by yourself
