Hi, we’re going Vietnam in March 🤩 Has anyone done the Ha Giang Loop solo (without a tour)? Me and my partner are thinking of just hiring a bike and doing it ourselves over 3 days. Would love to know any tips/ good stop offs / accommodation recommendations 🥰

Me and my mate went from north to south put we bought our bikes then sold them in HCMC . No problem selling them. Brilliant holiday. 💯
U should do it without a tour period…would never ever even consider riding in a group following ” the leader”
Have you got licenses and can you get the 1968 IDP? If yes, and yes, then go for it. It’s easy.
Bring pocket money for the cops who will inevitably pull you over.
We drove ourselves but did Join a group we only had one cop stop but have our international drivers license with motorbike and didn’t have issues with that . The reason we did with group is so our stays , buses before and after , bikes etc were taken care of and choose a group that was smaller and it was actually fun having others to talk with at night etc even my bf who originally didn’t want to join a group at all said he liked that we did . We used BiBi and went last November and weather was perfect then
– Ha Giang is very beautiful in March; if u have time, u can travel for 4–5 days, which will make your trip more relaxed
Tbh, we had a guide but self drove. They pick you up on the bike, pay for fuel, food, bike, accommodation for 3 days. They explain the various passes etc and it’s £100 each. I thought it was good value. I can pass on details if that’s floats your boat. Edit: Golden Tours was our guide
