Hi everyone 😊At first I thought the tailor thing in Hoi An was overrated and that I definitely don’t need more clothes… but after *so* many friends who visited kept recommending it, I’m starting to reconsider.Anyone here actually did it and can share their experience? How does the process work? How long does it take? And is it really something you shouldn’t miss?Would also love specific tailor recommendations 🙏

My husband got a pair of leather sandals made to his specific measurements chose the soles the leather colour and had them made in one day only £45 which I thought was a bargain for the craftsmanship. He said they’re really comfy to
I took a dress that was on its last legs and they copied it. Same fit, different fabric Beautiful dress. That was over 10 years ago though
Was a waste of £80 to be honest.
I always go to Yaly. I can design my own thing and choose from tons of fabrics. I take pictures of items I want made and it always turns out great. I often do two fittings so I can tweak the item if it isn’t exactly how I want it. As people have said, you can choose cheap fabric and get a cheap item, or choose better fabrics, and pay more. It’s up to you. I like a 4 day turn around so I have time for more fittings if needed. But I’ve seen things delivered in the middle of the night (same day) because people are leaving. They are very accommodating to make that money.
Those of you that have had Leather worked on., Would they do something like put zippers into my horse riding chaps? It’s just straight zippers, but our tour
Pick a tailor that does the sewing inhouse and not send out.
Visit 5,6 different places before choosing one. Don’t make quick decisions. Don’t just go with the first one or two shops. Between shops, compare the quality of fabric and cost as well as their skills (check out their display items in their shop).
My husband is 6’7″ so we always get something made when we are there!
We’ve been back ti this place twice the service is amazing https://www.facebook.com/share/1DiWekFP5C/
