Hi everyone At first I thought the tailor thing in Hoi An was overrated and that I definitely don’t need more clothes… but after *so* many friends who visited kept recommending it, I’m starting to reconsider.

Hi everyone 😊At first I thought the tailor thing in Hoi An was overrated and that I definitely don’t need more clothes… but after *so* many friends who visited kept recommending it, I’m starting to reconsider.Anyone here actually did it and can share their experience? How does the process work? How long does it take? And is it really something you shouldn’t miss?Would also love specific tailor recommendations 🙏

We had tailoring (blazers) and shoes made in Hoi An (both were v disappointing). We found much better quality in HK and Bali. Hubby is still wearing a suit and business shirts from HK @10yr ago. We have had better results when you bring an item with you and ask them to ‘copy’ it. Good luck!

I’ve had clothing made both trips, but noticed it was a lot more expensive the second time.

What time do the tailors generally close in Hoi An and can you take your own material (if so, do you get charged less)?

Can you only get this done in Hoi An, has anyone done this in Saigon and can recommend?

I purchased clothes from Mr Xe – a number of dresses and jackets – 15 years ago!! And they still are in good condition!
