Hi everyone At first I thought the tailor thing in Hoi An was overrated and that I definitely don’t need more clothes… but after *so* many friends who visited kept recommending it, I’m starting to reconsider.

Hi everyone 😊At first I thought the tailor thing in Hoi An was overrated and that I definitely don’t need more clothes… but after *so* many friends who visited kept recommending it, I’m starting to reconsider.Anyone here actually did it and can share their experience? How does the process work? Those of you that have had Leather… I have a zippers I want put in my horse riding chaps. It’s $75 each here in the states. Do you think they would do something like that there?

We just came back from Hoi An. Son bought 2 suits and 2 tailored shirts for about $500 aid and hubby got 3 tailored shirts- not sure how much he paid. They were quick and beautifully made. I wish I needed some clothes ☺️ definitely not overrated

My husband got a new suit plus 4 shirts and all turned out great. My dress was a bit big on me and the seamstress kept saying I just need to wear a padded bra. 🤣

I would definitely order something just for the experience which was really fun. I bought a dress and some pyjamas from two different suppliers. Took only 2 days. Order, then fitting/amendments and collection. I love my made to measure pieces.

We had a linen jacket, trousers and dress shirts made for my husband, as well as two pairs of trousers (one fully lined), linen shorts (fully lined) and a Vietnamese Áo Dài for me, at Blue Chic Tailors (after I extensively read blogs and recommendations for Hoi An tailors). The entire process took two days. Their tailoring is meticulous and the service was fantastic – highly recommended!

I’ve heard the hotels charge the tailors a commission. Don’t know if this is true or not but I’d guess that would make any tailor recommended by a hotel to be a little more expensive.

Its pretty drawn out, i got 3 blazers made… you obviously pick out fabrics… they measure you… they will get you back same day at night time for another fitting of partially made blazers… then another fitting next day….. then that next night they deliver them or you pick up… took 2 days and you really need to be available. Price wise, i found it dearer than i expected… we payed $100 (Australian) per blazer, thats after alot of haggling… ironically that was 2yrs ago and i haven’t worn any of them.
