Family of 4 coming from Canada and wondering what travellers from Canada do for currency.

Family of 4 coming from Canada and wondering what travellers from Canada do for currency. We have ordered and received Wise cards but see there are withdrawal limits for bank machines. We would rather not get US cash out here to exchange there but will if needed. We can not get VND from our Royal Bank here in Canada and worry our RBC bank card won’t work there. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I used a wealthsimplencard to take out cash from bank machines. And I exchanged a bit at a money exchange in Canada before I left.

You will have a wise card and a wise digital card. Use both like a debit card in Canada. You do not need to make withdrawals

Our RBC card has worked great. The most we have been able to get out was 5 million dong at a time. It’s cost between $275 to $283 Cdn depending on the fees of the Vietnamese banks. We upgraded to the vip package so we don’t have to pay the $5 withdrawal fee from RBC. We have definitely used our card enough to have made it worth it. Cash has been great. We have gotten between 1 800 000 to

VP bank is the best. No fees. Withdraw many times. Every day you can.

Coming from Canada as well and don’t understand the WISE Card everyone is referring to is it a card thst acts like a Visa or Mastercard and you use it abd get a limit like your other cc’d or do you preload it with money and use it? Can someone help explain the best use we will be in Vietnam and Thsiland the month of November.

Can anyone give an example of rates you are getting there at exchanges with your $100 Canadian to compare rates at Currency Exchanges in Canada.

Try a gold and currency exchange to get VND. Most places take visa or Mastercard. I was there in January and loved it. Have a great trip!
