    Not expected, always appreciated. Never feel obliged to tip and if you do, make sure it actually goes to whoever provided the good service, not the boss or owner. Some businesses are honest about tip sharing, some don’t understand the concept of someone paying over the asking price. You can be considered a bit odd for just giving money away. It’s not common for Vietnamese to tip.

    We were there in January and started tipping 500K to the taxi for a 2 hour driver. Our first 3 days we tipped the young guides 500k (€17) for 4 to 6 hours then we realised that was a bit much so we tipped 200k (€7) which in Ireland 🇮🇪 is a reasonable tip
