We are staying in a hotel over Tet (4* if that makes any difference) and we’re wanting to gift a small token of our appreciation to the staff we deal with who are working that day.

Would $100,000 vnd each be acceptable or is that insulting? We are staying in a hotel over Tet (4* if that makes any difference) and we’re wanting to gift a small token of our appreciation to the staff we deal with who are working that day. Yes 100k is totally fine! It’s not common for tourists to hand out red envelopes 🧧. Everybody who is telling you to give more should do it themselves. The fact that you are already planning to give to the whole staff means a lot!

If you are giving to many staff members, 100,000 VND (abt USD 4) is ok. Lunch in VN for a local can be abt 50,000 to 80,000 VND (of course, it varies).

I think that would be great. It’s New Year the point of giving it is to wish them luck. She is being so kind and thoughtful

What a lovely gesture and I don’t understand the ones on here saying it should be more, most people wouldn’t think to give anything, well done 🙏
