Don’t visit the country if you worry so much.
Not suggesting you drink the water but brushing your teeth with it is fine
In Vietnam, ice in cafés, restaurants, and bars is usually safe because it’s made from filtered factory ice.
Ice in drinks is fine to consume, drink bottle water, brushing teeth with tap water is fine too unless you live in rural area
I have been drinking the ice and so far it’s okay. But I am also very cautious. I would say if you can, avoid as possible. But if you find yourself in a situation, it’s not that bad. I am day 10 in and so far no issues
We have been here for 6 weeks. Had no problem brushing teeth using tap water.
This question gets asked 5-10 times a week. No don’t worry about the ice as it’s filtered, be more concerned with how it’s stored but in reality it’s not an issue. Too many people read old information online about water and ice and their fears ruin their vacation. I live here and drink bottled water and drinks with ice daily, not an issue. I brush with tap water, use the bum gun and shower without filtering it. Ask me anything
We’ve avoided ice for the first couple of days, I then caved in and had ice in everything since, it’s been three weeks, we’ve not gotten sick once, it’s a risk you might get lucky, you might not. You can also tell commercial ice from crushed tap water ice so if you’re wise you can enjoy it and not get sick.
Just avoid the shaved ice. I’ve cubes are usually made from a filtered system. 14 days here so far. Countless coconut coffees and no upset stomach from ice in drinks
I was sidelined by a single ice cube in a shot of whiskey on vacation, not in Vietnam. Outside of the US, I avoid all water and ice at all times. At home, I’m not a germaphobe.
