Is ninh binh worth a night stay or a day trip?

Is ninh binh worth a night stay or a day trip?My hubby and I will be spending our last 4 days in Hanoi and we’re trying to figure out if we should just stick around Hanoi for those 4 days, or if ninh Binh is worth checking out. And if so, would y’all recommend staying the night, or is a day trip enough?

We had the same choice. Our last fews days of a nearly 3 week vacation were in Hanoi, we’d done so many day trips and short trips that we were quite tired and doing another 12+ hour day trip to Ninh Binh did not sound fun. But we did it and are so glad we did – it was one of my favorite days in Vietnam. We did Trang An because the rice fields weren’t very green when we were there – the travel agents know the season best so listen to them. If I were to plan the trip again, I’d def do a 2D/1N or more in the Ninh Binh area as others suggest.

If you like activities, nature, countryside… you can stay in Ninh Binh 1 night. There are many attractions in Ninh Bình. Cheap & friendly

I would skip Ninh Binh and stay a couple of nights in Tam Coc and make a few days trips from there.

Go to tam coc instead, it’s so cute, just to the left of Ninh Binh, nice small town, lake, rent some bikes, do a few cave tours, so cute.
