I found it one of the safest places in Asia. Even for the traffic, when crossing the street. Still, intense! (compared to many places in Philippines, Thailand and, say, Bali). Been to many places, from Sapa to Phu Quoc in 4 trips and inbetween. Still wanting/needing/having to go back. Yes, very safe.
