I’m going to Vietnam for 3 weeks should I buy this T-Mobile international plan for $50 or is it cheaper to get a ESIM at the airport when I arrive over there?

Get a e-SIM for 1-2 days and then get a sim card here, I use Viettel and I spend 160k per month

Esim! It was like $16 at the airport or $10 a few blocks away and way better service!

I always get the T-mobile international plan because I’m afraid I might have issues with e-sim. But it definitely seems to be cheaper.

Don’t get it. I spent 2 weeks in Thailand and didn’t need to get any extra coverage. They give enough data for international use and there enough places with free wifi.

ESIM at the airport really expensive and weird, buy it at mobile shop outside. And ask for wifi when you go any places. Normally there are free wifi at restaurant, hotel, coffee shop… Ask them for the wifi password

Some local providers are Viettel, Vinaphone, Mobiphone, you can come to them with your passport and it will take less than 30 minutes to get a new SIM card. You can use the Vietnamese phone number to download apps like Grab for bike and car rides, Grabfood or Shoppee food for food delivery also. Really cheap and convenient

This plan is only good if you require communication from the state while you are off in 3 weeks. Otherwise this tmobile plan wont do you any good for booking grab, shoppe, or communication in vn. The wifi for it is a alittle wonky at certain area. I would highly suggest getting an esim there would work best. For the sake of not getting Sim at the airport. Down Esim local that app allow you to buy wifi and once you land you have immediate wifi. Prior to leaving the state set up zalo using US number works for me so I assume it works for you too. Download WhatsApp, viber and fb messenger those are the best way to contact people. Look into klook for Fast Track cuz they also have transportation as part of their plan too. They will help you drive to your destination. Let me know if you need further detail I would love to help
