I’m going to Vietnam for 3 weeks should I buy this T-Mobile international plan for $50 or is it cheaper to get a ESIM at the airport when I arrive over there? I don’t need phone calls or texts I just need data

My T-Mobile plan includes international data and texting. Check what is included in yours first. That said, I live in Thailand and it is great here. It was terrible in Saigon, so I bought an eSIM for my time there after 2 days of painfully slow internet.
You need to make sure that your phone is unlocked first so that you can use the esims. Surprisingly, if you bought your phone from t mobile, it is still kinda “locked” into their network. You can easily do it online or call and ask them to unlock it for you.
E sim airolo, don’t need to buy/wait in AirPort. Few days before install, when arive airport =activate. Take viettel operator (think is best coverage)
I used Airalo e sim.
Look at the app Airalo. We bought it before we came out and we have found it brilliant.
Please dont ever buy Sim card at airport, it’s scam & ripped off. You will find out later but cant go back in to ask for money back
We are here in Vietnam now for 3 weeks the guard from our hotel sold us 350kvnd for unlimited sim for a month.in the airport it is 440k to 500k
T-Mobile good to use in Vietnam, don’t have to buy $50 plan unless you want to make phone call during the trip
To be honest, T-Mobile not good in Vietnam like they said. And the eSIM in the airport are expensive than others outside even though it the same company. If you need internet to get a grab go for the eSIM in the airport but only one is enough. Your friend or fam can get it outside at MobiFone or Viettel or VinaPhone with a passport for about $10 for 8GB a day.
You have many options.
