I booked all my accommodations to Vietnam with Booking but now I’m getting some messages on WhatsApp asking me to confirm my reservation or it will be cancelled.

I booked all my accommodations to Vietnam with Booking but now I’m getting some messages on WhatsApp asking me to confirm my reservation or it will be cancelled. Are they scammers trying to get personal info? I’ve replied to them to contact me via Booking only and I have blocked them. Anybody experienced this issue??

Just got one to. Asked local friend about it and contacted original booking company. Both said it was a scam

Maybe not. It is widely used in Vietnam and I communicated with my accommodation the same way. Just phone your accommodation reception and confirm it is them.

I have had a few of these and did not contact them back. Instead I went onto booking.com and advised them and they said it was a scam as booking, com did not contact me and the booking I had made was confirmed. Then went and blocked the o scammers on WhatsApp.

I had the same for on of my booking in Ho Chi Minh, they said wrong hotel, hotel and wrong address. Only thing they had right was the dates. I cancelled my booking and rebooked another hotel

Contact booking .com. If you have a confirmation email for all your bookings it has been confirmed. Don’t click on any links. We have had something similar in the past.

Most places will message you in WhatsApp. You don’t have to pay them anything through a third party site. Just confirm the booking etc. Plus having their number makes communication much easier.
