I booked all my accommodations to Vietnam with Booking but now I’m getting some messages on WhatsApp asking me to confirm my reservation or it will be cancelled. Are they scammers trying to get personal info? I’ve replied to them to contact me via Booking only and I have blocked them. Anybody experienced this issue??

I got sent a message from my hotel on WhatsApp saying there are scams occurring at the moment and not to pay any money.they said they will be in touch a couple of weeks before our booking time
I received too. They’re impersonating booking.com
Never had this problem before until I booked Vietnam!

be very careful scams are being run from that site only contact the property directly if you are concerned
Yes – I got a couple and blocked them. However – the hotel does send a what’s app message to ask about your arrival time a day or two ahead but do not give any payment info thru what’s app

I had one last night, contacted hotel and its scammers
I got one two days ago. Never never ever give your info out!!! If you go back and read your confirmation from booking scroll towards the bottom. They actually warn us about this! I never bothered reading it before. Scam spread the word!!! And the link they send doesn’t say booking. They hope we won’t notice that either!
I also received a whatsapp from a hotel in ninh binh, asking me to click on a link to confirm my booking. That’s got scam written all over it.
