We are going to Vietnam in February we’ve also booked a week in Hanoi we haven’t decided how to get there yet This could influence how we get to Hanoi we want to experience the sleepers trains or we could fly from Da Nang what’s the best advice

My family (2 adults, 2 kids) took the Lotus train on our last trip and loved it so much we’ve booked it for our next visit in March. We booked the 4 berth cabin but when we got on the train they asked us if we’d like to have 2 x 4 berth cabins as they had one free. We declined because we wanted to experience it all together.

We did the Lotus carriage in September, the same train has multiple different carriages all operated by various companies, we did see some much nicer cabins and we see some alot less comfortable looking, having already done a sleeper train in Europe and hating it as I spent 3 days following it off balance I was very skeptical about it but we were part of a group of 6 so we went for it with them, we booked 3 cabins and I loved it, I did sleep propped up to try and avoid my balance going and it’s a fab way to see the sunrise / scenery between the two cities, yes we could have flown and booked a hotel for the night and met with our friends when they arrived but this was a bit more of an experience !
