Private Car Transfer – HCMC to Can Tho

Hi,

Our family of 4 needs to get to Can Tho from Saigon on January 1st (then back again on January 4th). Looking for a good value car service that can transport us and 4 decent bags. Any car company recommendations would be much appreciated.

    Kalip is confirmed as our driver to get us to Can Tho. Some great recommendations for the way down and back. We will be heading back to the airport for a flight following our stay in the Mekong. We may need to just go fairly direct for that one. Do you think Kalip would recommend a driver for the return journey?

    On the way down to Cần Thơ, you would stop by the Đông Hòa Hiệp Village, then get lunch at the FUTA rest stop that I had mentioned before heading to Cần Thơ.

    The return trip includes a ferry ride (the Đình Khao Ferry in Vinh Long), the Cái Mơn area (lots of fruit orchards and flowering/ornamental plant nurseries.

    An option here (if you have time) is to visit the brick kilns along the Cổ Chiên River in Vĩnh Long, and take the Phước An Ferry instead to get to Cái Mơn.

    Thanks John – Dong Hoa Hiep in Cai Be sounds our speed. I’m not sure how interested the girls will be in Pagoda’s. The ability to roam around have a bite to eat somewhere great would suit us perfectly. About 2 hours from HCMC and then another 1.5 hours to Can Tho or thereabouts?

    What do the girls like?

    A couple of standards, though a bit of sideways are the Vĩnh Trang Pagoda in Mỹ Tho and the ancient town of Đông Hoà Hiệp in Cái Bè.

    (There are three villages in Vietnam, each in one the three principal regions (north, central, and south), that are recognized as the traditional village of the particular region.

    Đông Hoà Hiệp is the one in the south.

    Along this route, QL1A, the Phương Trang Rest Stop is the most popular for good reasons.

    It’s almost the defacto rest stop for lunch when you’re on that route.

    The girls will likely feel comfortable there.

    But it could be better as I learn more about what you hope to have the children experiencing .

    Our children are 10 and 13 (girls) – to keep in mind.

    I have often a driver/guide named Kalip.

    He speaks English fairly well and has a 7-seat Toyota SUV that will suit you just fine.

    You can ask him to make a few stops along the way to visit or for a lunch break.

    Best value I’ve seen here on the forum (and anywhere else) over the years.
