My thoughts on Nha Trang I’m just leaving Nha Trang after 4 days here.

My thoughts on Nha Trang I’m just leaving Nha Trang after 4 days here. 4 weeks in Vietnam. I’ve loved every bit, except for Nha Trang. It’s full of Russians, the signs are often in Russian.I never had a thing about Russians before this, but by golly, I’ve been bruised by them on the street, as they just push past you, no manners in giving (even a fraction), when pushing past you on the footpath. I’ve heard them abuse the locals way too often. It’s not nice here anymore. I came to Nha Trang 16 years ago and really enjoyed myself. This time, I actually ended up avoiding going out, because the vibe isn’t great.Maybe I was in the wrong part of Nha Trang, but I am so happy to be leaving and I won’t be coming back. Has anyone else had a similar experience here, or is it just me?I did meet a couple of nice ones, but the majority just treated others like we are in their way, like servants and the manners were non existent that I saw, in general.

Phu Quoc Island was the same. My son and I were pushed out of the way at sunworld by big adults trying to the inflatable rings 🙄

We started noticing the sidewalk/walking space issue as well in many places years ago in Mexico, Thailand, India, etc. As Americans, we would routinely, out of habit, move over, yield or at least go single file on crowded sidewalks…NOT anymore! We noticed very quickly, that if you yield at all, most foreigners don’t move an inch, stay double or family wide & will knock you right off the sidewalk! I now simply put myself in position to plow forward & will knock right into people, especially those who lock arms or are heads-down on their phones. Not to be confrontational, but got tired of being forced into the street or up against buildings. It was actually dangerous at times due to relentless, congested traffic. On a side note: currently in Bali at a very upscale resort & no doubt, Russians & at least one large group of 20 Germans, are unbelievably obnoxious, loud as hell, unbelievably destructive to the place & horribly rude to the local employees (the kindest, sweet people ever!) who tolerate more than anyone should have to. We also have noticed the huge presence in businesses being owned & operated by Russians all over Thailand, Vietnam & Indonesia. We don’t understand the complete unawareness of people visiting other countries. We’ve come to realize that in general, it’s tourists with too much money who are the worst behaved & it really manifests itself in their kids behaviors as well. I don’t know, maybe we need to lower our expectations.

Rue Bes Besley Theyre Russians or Belarusian. Common knowledge that theyre the ones in numbers here. It isnt an isolated incident at all. Theres Russian tour operators, Russian menus ect. They are catered to in Nha Trang. Plus you can tell the women all have lip filler.

Totally agree and I was there about 15 years ago I have no problem telling them to join the cue when they try pushing in or just being rude

It’s exactly the same in parts of Sri Lanka too. Unawatuna in particular.

The first time we came to Vietnam was 2017 with children and had the same experience. Have avoided Nha Trang ever since.
