My thoughts on Nha Trang I’m just leaving Nha Trang after 4 days here. 4 weeks in Vietnam. I’ve loved every bit, except for Nha Trang. It’s full of Russians, the signs are often in Russian.I never had a thing about Russians before this, but by golly, I’ve been bruised by them on the street, as they just push past you, no manners in giving (even a fraction), when pushing past you on the footpath. I’ve heard them abuse the locals way too often. It’s not nice here anymore. I came to Nha Trang 16 years ago and really enjoyed myself. This time, I actually ended up avoiding going out, because the vibe isn’t great.Maybe I was in the wrong part of Nha Trang, but I am so happy to be leaving and I won’t be coming back. Has anyone else had a similar experience here, or is it just me?I did meet a couple of nice ones, but the majority just treated others like we are in their way, like servants and the manners were non existent that I saw, in general.

Man, that’s a bummer, we had a similar experience in Pattaya last year. We will be in Vietnam in a few weeks and I was looking forward to visiting Nha Trang. Maybe we will just pass through for a day and check the box and move on. 😭
But, I’ll bet the Russians are loving it!
We were in Nha Trang for 15 days in January. Although there were lots of Russians, we didn’t have any issue. We enjoyed our time in Nha Trang and we will certainly come back next year. I think it really depends on which area of Nha Trang you are staying. Cheers ! 👏 ✌️
It’s like I posted this post myself. 100 percent EVERYTHING you said. We were just there in Jan/Feb 2026. The overwhelming ignorance caused us to cut our stay short but not without taking the cable car to Vinpearl!! A must see/do
agree
I went to nha Trang thinking the same thing. But when I got there they were not rude at all imo. There was a language barrier, but they were pretty polite to me. Then again I have Russian friends in the US and I’m use to their cadence so not really offended by there hardened ways. Look past that and they’re just regular people.
Yep, left there a few days ago. Was so disappointed. 😪
I have been to Nha Trang at least 7 times starting in 2010. Never had any problems with Russians, in fact found them polite. Unfortunately can’t say the same thing about Australian tourists. I also used to operate a rental car franchise in Vanuatu before travelling to Vietnam to live. The way Australians abused and treated other people’s property was disgusting, got to the point I would hire cars to them, especially if they came off cruise ships.
Thank you for the post and comments. I was thinking of leaving Danang for Nha Trang. Now maybe just a short visit.
The locals hate them also, but the local gov. Likes their money. I heard it was a big money laundering town.
