Good on you Sara I’m 68 and heading to Vietnam in April… Not worried at all
Definitely much safer than US, AUS or EU right now
Check your countries travel advice
My sister and I are travelling back for a second time to Vietnam from NZ – just love the country, the people, the culture actually we felt totally safe there.
Here in HCMC now, it’s safe and relatively cheap
Left last night trying to get back to uk but after 4 weeks around Vietnam I would gladly stay there again .Safe as long as you cross roads with caution !🏍️🏍️🏍️
It is very safe, we have been there many times, and are going again next week , the people are amazing, great food, coffee , plenty to see and do, many people say crossing the road, best advice is to walk slowly, do not run or panic , the traffic will go around you if you walk slowly, like any country you visit be respectful , friendly and polite .hope you have a great time.
From my experience, Vietnam feels as safe as Thailand, a bit safer than Malaysia and Indonesia but not as safe as Japan or China.
We feel far safer in Vietnam than in our own country. (AU) Nobody messes with Vietnam, a thousand years of history shows that you will come off 2nd best if you try… and the country has no qualms in strictly controlling entry to citizens from problematic nationalities that threaten the well-being, peace and safety of the country. A couple more to add to the list yet, but they’re on the right track. Perfectly safe.
Absolutely save and friendly
