Leona cruise Halong bay is exceptional
I’m not the popular opinion. We just got back from two weeks and did 3/2 in Ninh Binh (stayed by Tam Coc River in the middle of everything) and the same for a overnight cruise in Ha Long Bay and I would choose Ha Lomg Bay! Although we enjoyed it and Ben, for the end of our trip, we really liked the relaxation of how long Bay. The scenery there is breathtaking, and there are many activities for those who want to participate in them. In Ninh Bihn we did the Tam Coc River boat, Mua Cave, Bich Dong Pagoda and Trang A Boat- you could also rent bikes and see rice paddies. For Ha Long it was kayaking, climbing mountains to Pagaoda; swimming and some even did Cat Ba and biking. It’s different but also similar in scenery.
I was just in tam coc right next to ninh binh and it was awesome. Take the river caves tour. We had such a killer time there.
Not Ninh bah but tam coc is lovely . Emerald resort . Just arrived today
Ninh Binh…havent been there but i was disappointed in Ha Long

I have not been to Ninh Binh. I found Ha Long bay beautiful when sailing in the bay, however, the tours were very commercialized for me personally. We enjoyed the kayaking tho.

Question. We were going to do Hanoi and do one night cruise on Halong. Looking at the comments here it seems better to go to Ninh Binh. How many nights would you recommend. It will be in December From here would you go to Hue or Da Nang. We will be travelling south
Ninh Binh every time. I was very disappointed with Ha Long Bay.
