I’d love to visit the Cu Chi tunnels (combined with Mekong Delta) but I’m claustrophobic.

I’d love to visit the Cu Chi tunnels (combined with Mekong Delta) but I’m claustrophobic. What’s the shortest distance you can go in the tunnels? Would you recommend it?Can you just go in and straight back up again or do hou have to wait for a long time for the other people from the tour?Thank you for your advise 🤗

You don’t need to go down into it at all. You can just climb down and stick your head in if you want… The longest stretch is something like 200 m.

It’s a very popular tour even in the off season. I didn’t go on it but other’s from our tour group did. Like Halong Bay, every organised tour to HCMC goes to Cu Chi tunnels. Personally I would save your money.

Took the boat and cu chi tour. I passed on going into the tunnel for same reason. It is amazing to witness and appreciate what the Vietnames were willing to endure to win their self determination and freedom from foreigners. Cu chi is only a sliver of the sacrifice they made. 4 million died.

You don’t have to go in the tunnel, just stay on the ground

20/40 or 60 meters. However, if you are seriously claustrophobic, then I wouldn’t recommend it! It is short and narrow. If you just don’t like confined spaces like myself, it is doable.
