I’d love to visit the Cu Chi tunnels (combined with Mekong Delta) but I’m claustrophobic. What’s the shortest distance you can go in the tunnels? Would you recommend it?Can you just go in and straight back up again or do hou have to wait for a long time for the other people from the tour?Thank you for your advise 🤗

I did the 20 meters – at the time that was enough for me – the people infront of kept stopping which set my anxiety off – o was also 22kg heavier than I am now – that was 6mths ago – going again in the next 2 weeks with my family so might see if I can keep going
Yes going under it’s only a very small part there is plenty more to see the majority of people can’t get in there
Your claustrophobia will be amplified 💯
My husband did it but came out the 1st entrance. Said it killed his back. 2 grand kid 1 who a lot bigger than my husband done the whole way. The eldest came out with a noise bleed. No idea why. But they both enjoyed it. I wanted to go but got dodgy knees and can’t bend them. Would have loved to have tried.
I just walked to the exit whilst the group went in the tunnels. The guide tells you where to meet them
Maybe Vinh Moc tunnels might be an option for you if you’re near Hue. We spent about 30-40mins in there, could walk through faster. I only needed to slightly bend to walk through. https://explorevietnam.com.vn/hue/vinh-moc-tunnel/
You can go down a couple of steps to look in if you want
Why should you?
I think the shortest is 20m which is what I did. I’m not claustrophobic but if you are it might be too much for you. You don’t have to go in at all. It’s optional.
I apologize in advance if this sounds negative, but Cu Chi is one of those places where I feel compelled to speak up. It honestly upsets me that it’s often promoted like a tourist attraction or circus when it should really be treated as a place to respect the many people who died there.
