I was at the pagoda in Na Trang and a guy offered to take our picture and then he said he the Vietnamese Red Cross he had a list of people who had given money and he wanted us to put our name on the list and our where we were from and donate some money. It was probably a scam but we donated only 200,000 dong he wanted more don’t know if it’s a scam or not, but it wasn’t much money. Has anybody heard of this before

Do not donate anyone on the street, you can donate inside any temple
It’s a scam and I’ve never been to Vietnam, similar scams in Bali and Thailand which I witnessed
It’s a scam! Don’t give them money, especially don’t give them money via CC. This scam has been warned allover the internet.
Red Cross is a common scam vehicle. Next ask for a number of their manager so you can call to verify. Can’t make it easy for these low lifes.
Scam, but I also have a list you can sign and donate money
very common well known scam.
I was there and 2 female monks pressured me to give ”donate” some money. Hate to be rude so I gave them some.
Its very kind of you but fortunately only about £5 lost to a very probable scam.
100% sure anybody who walks up to you on the street claiming to be with any charity is a scam.
In VN or anywhere in the world, Red Cross would not be walking around asking for cash. When I feel like helping people out, I’d go to the ones selling vegetables or fruits, buy something and give them extra cash. You can see these people are really trying to earn a living.
