I did a very silly thing. When I booked my plane tixs from US to Vietnam, I forgot to add my husband’s middle name in the tix.

I did a very silly thing. When I booked my plane tixs from US to Vietnam, I forgot to add my husband’s middle name in the tix. The passport has his middle name but the tix doesn’t. I tried calling to add his middle name but the airline is requesting me to cancel and re- purchase the tixs again – I declined bc that would be sooo expensive. We are supposed to be leaving in a wk! So my question is, would my husband have trouble getting to the flight. Everything is correct but just not his middle name. I already feel dumb for my mistake so plz be kind 🙏

Last name and passport number must match the visa. And you are ready to fly. No issue on middle name. I gone through so many international flights and no issue

Ive done this a few times now. Called airline and had them add middle name. No problem. I now have registered wth full name so no worries for future bookings.

We left LAX to Hong Kong and everything was fine. Got back to Hong Kong airport to fly to Bangkok and my husbands middle name is Francis and it was spelled Frances. They charged us $200usd for the name change. That was Dec 2024 and we’re still in Asia and have been on so many flights I can’t remember. But I can tell you one thing, never made that mistake again.

I’m the same, they went by my membership name. I was going to ask at check in if they needed to add it or not. Visas were done professionally and match the passports.

I just returned from Vietnam via the states a week ago. I didn’t have middle names on any of our tickets for me, wife and daughter. We had no problems with airline, security or immigration at all. The Airline however were strict about our visas being accurate. Make sure they match your passport ICAO line. We flew Asiana for international and Vietnam Airlines in country.

Last time we went to Vietnam, I messed up my daughter’s name in the transliteration in visa. We had to explain everything in Malaysia during our transfer, but in Vietnam they didn’t seem to care at all. It depends on the customs officer. 😄

I had this exact issue, Melbourne to Vietnam . Yes it was an issue, in Melbourne they allowed me to sign a declaration but Melbourne told me Vietnam may make me buy a whole new ticket, we were flying business class. I got the email address for Vietnam airlines from Melbourne airport and emailed them. They changed my name on my return flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Melbourne with my middle name for a small payment.

My international flight did not have my middle name, but my passport and visa did. Domestic flights within the country i did make sure to use my middle name
